EXUBERANT, JOYFUL, INSPIRED BY NATURE
I have been captivated by the life all around me for as long as I can remember. Even familiar, backyard nature is an endless source of wonder and inspiration. I've always thought that nature's designs simply cannot be improved upon. That leaves me free to appreciate nature's wild offerings with naiveté, humility, delight, and amazement. Repeated motifs bring movement, rhythm, energy, and life to the spaces they occupy. I create art, designs, floorcloths, and textiles to share my delight with you.
BOLD MODERN FLOORCLOTHS
Beautiful floor coverings inspired by nature and a love of pattern, folk art, and geometric design. My first floorcloths were born somewhat out of necessity. Having proudly displayed all of my childrens' artwork on the walls in every room, I had run out of wall space for art, and wanted beautiful floorcoverings that were playfully reflective of our little piece of paradise, and could handle the rigors of country life. I was thrilled to discover that floorcloths have been a practical and beautiful solution for centuries.
UPHOLSTERY, FROM CONCEPTION TO CONFECTION
Working on large pieces of art with repeated motifs and patterns opened my eyes to a whole new world of applied art. A dear friend asked if I could turn one of my designs into a fabric. I didn't think I could, but I would try! A year and a half later, I am constantly learning new ways to apply my artwork to textiles, furniture, and other surfaces to share my delight and fascination with the natural world with everyone I can.
